A name or place entered into a search tool is transmitted directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Cape May County Criminal History does not keep or record those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or contact submission is retained so that a response can be prepared. The message remains within the organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the servers automatically receive basic technical information about the visit:

- Visited pages and the time spent on them

- The referring website, when one exists
- The device’s assigned IP address

Its reference material identifies official sources such as the Cape May County Sheriff’s Office, New Jersey Courts, the New Jersey State Police State Bureau of Identification, and the New Jersey Sex Offender Internet Registry. Visitor information is not compiled into a consumer report or a file about another person. This operation is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies supply the search boxes. Information submitted through one of those tools is governed by that provider’s privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider controls its own retention and disclosure rules. Review those terms before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Cape May County offices, New Jersey Courts, state agencies, legal-aid organizations, and outside search services. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination’s privacy policy applies. Check that policy before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may use cross-site activity to select targeted ads. Their systems, not Cape May County Criminal History, perform that tracking.

Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:

Neither law turns this private website into a government records custodian. Subject to applicable law and verification of the request, a visitor may:
