Why We Built This Site
New Jersey does not place every criminal record in one open name-search database. The arresting police agency keeps its report, the Cape May County Correctional Center keeps jail and booking information, and the court that heard a case maintains its charges and disposition. The New Jersey State Police, State Bureau of Identification, maintains the fingerprint-based repository but does not offer an unrestricted public search for another person's rap sheet. New Jersey Courts, the Department of Corrections, and the New Jersey Sex Offender Internet Registry each answer different questions. Cape May County Criminal History brings those official routes, request steps, fees, and office details into one organized reference.

- We do not provide certified court papers, criminal histories, or other official copies
- We cannot offer legal advice about a charge, disposition, expungement, or individual case
- We cannot promise that an agency's fee, address, telephone number, or procedure has not changed
An official record must come from its government custodian, such as the Sheriff, the New Jersey court that heard the case, or the New Jersey State Police.
